These photographs were taten on a farm outside Ficksburg in the Free State Province in South Africa called Springwater Cottages.

I went with one of my friends to his Fathers farm in Magaliesburg. We were shooting the stars, Milky Way and star trails into the early hours of the morning. These are some of the awesome photographs I took.
The Photos were taken with the following properties
Exposure Time: 30 seconds 119 Frames
Exposure Bias: 0stop
Camera: Canon 760D
The following StarTrails were taken from the Eksderde campsite. I used my Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 760D. These photos were taken on top of a hill, close to the campsite.
The photographs were taken with the following settings:
Exposure Time : 30 seconds 114 – 117 Frames
Exposure Bias: 0-step
Camera: Canon 5D and 760D
Some of the photos were photographed from the top of a hill (koppie) in the middle of the bushveld. Johan Smit sat with me for the full duration of the photo – which I’m very grateful for, and luckily it wasn’t too cold. The sound of the bush always amazes me, and it’s always special to hear a jackal in the background. Another amazing observation were that even if you think that you are far away from city light and other small holdings, is that you can see them very clearly in the night time.
